Well, Might As Well Add The 2023 Quilts

I think I have a few more but they need to be basted and then find time to quilt them. My long arm sure is getting a run for it’s money. These are ones I made in 2023.

Once more stack n whack. If you read my blog long enough you’ll see that I might be addicted to making these. This was a prayer quilt for a friend of a friend suffering from shingles for months. That poor thing.

One more one block wonder made using a Kaufman vintage print. Toes included. LOL another prayer quilt.

Another stack n whack using Tula Pink. This one is in the prayer quilt pile but hasn’t found a home yet.

This one has no name. I made up the design myself. Made or my bosses grandbaby. Drew Elizabeth born in August 2024.

A bargello pattern called Frequency done in beach colors batiks. This one went off a s a prayer quilt this week also.

Surprise, surprise. Another stack n whack. This one uses Kaffe Fasset special colorway that came out in 2023 for a limited time. It was a prayer quilt as well.

Last one in this post. Pattern is called Jewel Box and it’s a Christmas gift for my dog groomer.

At This Point

At this point you’re probably wondering, does she do anything but quilt? Well, not really. I have work, house cleaning, dogs and a cat to take care of. One hobby is all I have time for. My wonderful local ladies are quilting away but I will need to ask permission before I post their quilts.

So how about some fun dog pictures. Cause you know I always have them. Here are my boys. Now if the cat will just sit long enough to get a picture.

It’s Been A Year

Wow I simply can’t believe I forgot about my blog. I started it to track the progress of my quilt classes in Brandon a very long time ago. Back then it was called something else. Then I used it to keep it so my sister Jilly and I could keep up to date on events, quilts, news, etc. With her gone and no one to read, it just didn’t seem that important. But I guess I should update it. Who knows when I’m gone someone may run across it that is interested in reading all the nonsense.

So quilt wise – wow I have probably made a few but no sense it having 20 different posts so I’ll kind of lump things together. Here are the ones I made after the last post here in October 2022. If you’re interested in any info on them I’ll post under each picture.

This is my second God’s Eye quilt. This one was donated to a friends Sunday school class. They raffled it to raise money for a missions team to build a house for a family in the DR.

This pattern is called Courtship. If you look close it’s all sewing related fabrics. I donated it as a door prize for the ladies luncheon at Shiloh Baptist.

These 2 went to my good friend Kenetha. The first is a one block wonder using a flamingo print and the second is a stack n whack using a fabric line called monkey wrench. I adore monkeys.

This is my one block wonder using Michael Miller poinsettia. I gifted it to my sweet friend Brenda.

This is another stack n whack using a tiger lily fabric and the 2nd is a bargello called Gelato. Both were donated as prayer quilts.

This to date is one of my favorite quilts. It’s nothing but some black batik and leftover KF prints from the scrap drawer but I absolutely love how it came out. I didn’t love cutting over 2000 pieces lol. I am donating this one again to my dear friend Marilyn’s Sunday class in case they need another raffle.

i think this wraps up 2022 of what wasn’t posted prior. This is Joseph’s Coat using 30 different fabrics. So far it has stayed with me but who knows. One day it may find a home.
