Just thought I’d share some pictures of the cabin we rented for vacation. What an awesome vacation. We didn’t make a lot of plans in advance as we all really wanted a low-key, relaxing vacation vs. the usual run around like crazy kind. It rained most of the week so we couldn’t use the back yard seating area but that’s ok. We didn’t really miss it.
It was down the the wire but I was able to finish the quilt for Mark’s mom before I went to Georgia. Well, I did have to ask Jill to trim the threads once she arrived home cause I ran out of time but this way Mark could take it back to Ohio and deliver to his mom. It was a mystery pattern that I wasn’t really liking as it progressed but once finished, I really like how it turned out. I hope she does also. Very summery looking.
In 12 days I will see my sister and her awesome husband. In 2 weeks from today she and I will be just leaving the spa after an all day “spa experience”. I can’t wait. They are just such open, honest people and you never feel judged or lacking.
I can’t wait – I’m so to excite them. Since I never get to see them for birthdays and I’m like 35 years behind on birthday gifts for an amazing sister, I’m treating her to the spa for her birthday and have Mark a surprise for his coming from the Ukraine. It arrived in NY today so I’m hoping it gets thru customs and arrives here in time for me to take it to GA. I’ll keep you posted.
This was a mystery quilt on facebook and I am delighted to say I was able to make the entire thing without buying anything new. I wasn’t too sure about the teal but once I got in finished, it really helped bring out the small amount of teal in the focus fabric. I was going to put on my bed but I have a friend that just got a new bed and loves purple so instead it was delivered today and I’m sure she’ll enjoy it more than I ever would.
Still have to finish all 31 hopefully by the end of the year but I’m waiting to post one once it’s completely finished. Here is #2 complete. I have 1 more waiting to be quilted, 8 more waiting to be basted and 20 more waiting to be cut and pieced.
Well, it’s finished, the drawing held, the winner announced and delivered to it’s new home. Kenetha won the quilt and we were able to raise a little under $700. All the money raised goes to a local family struggling with a lot of medical bills or on-going issues. My sister Jill did such an awesome job of not only keeping track of the sales and drawing our winner but promoting the quilt raffle and raising those funds. She is just amazing in her love for others. Here it is finished. I think it came out very well.
For Christmas I bought Shannon and her husband Neil Diamond tickets. Apparently they are big fans. I figured with all the medical frights in December they needed some enjoyment. It must have been difficult to get a gift that you couldn’t use for 4 months but the tickets sold out very quickly.

I can’t wait. In about 22 more days I will get to see my awesome sister and her amazing hubby. So excited. 8 days to hang out, commune with nature and visit with each other.
We decided this year to meet half way and found what looks to be an amazing cabin in Blue Ridge GA. Turns out almost exactly 8 hours for each of us. Jill and I are spending Monday at the spa while Mark visits the local music shops. With him being an avid guitar player maybe she better take the credit card with us. After that Mark wants to pop over to Alabama one day and who knows what else.
Just can’t wait to spend some time with them. Just found them a few years ago thru a lot of research by Jill. I should say they found me and it was certainly a blessing to my life. I always wondered why I couldn’t just have normal family where people cared about each other and now I have that.
I hope they can still fit in a trip to Florida this year. Had to leave early last year because of that dang hurricane. Love those 2 so much.
LOL nothing to say I just love posting pictures of my pups. They do not like bath day but it wears them out. They have to spend the rest of the day recovering from the stress. Baby dog needs the towels on the floor as he likes to dry himself. Now they is tired babies. We spent a long time in back yard Saturday and they been little worn out since then. Hopefully no heat exhaustion.
I’m starting to slack off on my quilts but I finally got the Christmas sew along quilted. Hey, it’s only April. HA-HA. I included a picture of the back since my amazing sister loves to see those.
