I can’t believe I’ve been away from my blog so long.  I need to make more time to post but then again it’s just in case that when I’m gone someone might wanna know what I did in life, so I guess it doesn’t matter when i post.

I haven’t really been in the mood to sew lately cause I have this baby quilt looming that I really don’t want to make.  First it’s for the granddaughter of partner at my office that is just not nice to me, and second I just can’t wrap my head around one I like so I decided to start pulling fabrics and cutting them into quilt kits for later use.

I rarely like to just sit and watch TV but I turn it on for the pups.  Makes noise so they don’t bark at so much outside and I sit in my sewing room and cut.  Shame is I think I have 15 plus cut and the cabinet is still so full I can’t fit the scraps.   Now to get busy making quilts.  2018 is no promised quilts and just make what I like.

 

The Shiloh ladies group is having a ladies retreat tomorrow so I donated a quilt for the door prize.    Nothing fancy and little too pastel for my taste but I hope whoever wins likes it.

The day these 2 people came in my life I was so blessed.  I just love them to death.  And here is Jilly rocking her new specs.  She always looks amazing and was has such a positive way of looking at life and she couldn’t have found a better husband if the good Lord himself came down and plopped him at her front door.      She’s just so cute – I wanna be like her.

Finally had to accept I have to wear glasses so Michael decided I needed a whole new look.  I love the new hair color and got a lot of compliments.  Now some days I have my regular glasses and some days I rock the red pair I bought thinking Jilly would wear these.  I need to take a picture in the red but I hate pictures.

 

After decisions, decisions, decisions I think I like the bedroom the way it is, except the color.   Since I paid a fortune for the last person using it and I hate to paint I left the brown paint but I think I like everything else.    When Jilly comes I thought I’d ask if she would paint some designs on the wall for me.   She is so creative and so amazingly talented.    I’ve always wished i had the nerve to paint my bedroom red but I never have.

I really do like using the cubes for clothing instead of a dresser.  So much easier to put clothes away, find them and easily get what you’re looking for.

 

It’s so funny to watch their different personalities develop.  Poor Merlin is such an emotional thing.   He wants someone to sit and hold him 24/7.   He would be so happy living with a little old man or woman and just sitting on their lap all day but I’d never give him up.    He’s developing an issue with baby dog cause baby dog horns in and wants attention also.   Now he just howls when you leave but I’m hoping this too passes.  You should see his face when the cat gets in the chair with him.  He’s so afraid to move he crams himself into the arm as much as possible.

Then there is baby dog.  He is just a lover.  He wants to be with you no matter where you go.  If you take a shower he’ll wait on the floor next to the tub.  If you cook he’s lay right in front of the stove.  No matter where you go in the house baby dog goes with you.  Any time I hand bind a quilt, he has to have him some blankie time.

Just happened to look back today at my boys then and now.  While they may sometimes make me crazy and want to strangle them, I love those little dogs so much.  The bring so much to your life and ask nothing in return except you let them love you.    They were so cute as pups.  That’s when we first brought baby dog home in his backpack.   Hard to believe they are 1 and 2 now.

Wow what an awesome worship service yesterday.  Not only did we have the choir from Lighthouse Ministries who gave their testimony  on how God made changes in their lives but we heard a personal testimony from Pastor Joe’s son.  If ever there was a young man that God snatched up and said get with the program, it was certainly him and thankfully he listened.    As christians we all believe that God changes lives and speaks to people but when you see a young man that was angry, hurting and lost standing there telling you God pulled him thru, it makes it all worth while.   I will keep him in my prayers that he stays focused on God and keeps the faith as he finishes up the things he needs to do and can then begin to get his life on course again.

I’ve only been there 5 weeks or so but he’s an amazing pastor and even more so when you listen to the walk him family has walked and kept the faith.   That’s a God thing for sure.

I finished the binding early Saturday morning so number 5 of the fire house quilts is finished and ready to go.   It’s a simple Magic Tile pattern but I think it came out pretty. This is another one where I used the squares Robert pieced for the backing.   Tried something new and quilted stars in an all over pattern.    Not perfect but for a first time thing they aren’t horrible.    Hope someone will love it.

Next weekend I want to baste and quilt the one I’m donating to Krawling for the Fallen and then I think it’s time for a brake from the red white and blue.

 

Oh I will be so happy and feel I accomplished an amazing thing when that headline says number 31 done.   But till then I plod along.   Robert has helped piece one and sewn 2 backings for me but the anticipated help from the ladies that contacted me before I began, never materialized.  No worries though, it will just take longer to complete than I anticipated.    But that’s ok cause it is turning out to be much more costly than I originally planned as well.   If I sew slower I can spread out the costs as well.

After this one I have 2 more ready for binding then I need to baste and quilt some more.   I think there are 17 left to plan, cut and piece and 5 more cut up and ready to piece.  Here is number 4 in all it’s completed glory.   These is one of the pieced backs Robert made for me.  The leftovers weren’t large enough to back one but at $10 yard it helps to cut them up and use the leftovers.  I really like the idea and will do some more like this.
